In honor of Valentines Day I've picked out a plant I found along the path at Lake Merritt today. It is a unique color of Flax that I have not seen before. I love the color so much that I decided to share it with you all by itself without a combination plant to go with. I love the coral color.
Flax
Botanical Name:
Phormium tenax
likely 'Maori Maiden' hybrid, observed on a sunny Valentines Day near Lake Merritt, Oakland, California. Irrigation probably.

Thanks very much for your comments. I suppose the flax is something you use a lot in your designs because it is such a drought tolerant plant. Enjoyed looking through the portfolio on your web site.
